Shawn is always ready for some action. If he can’t find it, he’ll make some up.
Perhaps the monster is just some amalgamation of Shawn’s own desire for conflict. I could spin it that way, but I’d be giving the whole situation a lot more credit than is due. Also I’m pretty sure I just used “amalgamation” without knowing what it means.
